Overview of Governance and Committee
The American Saddlebred and Sporthorse Registries of Australasia (ASSRA) was incorporated in 2008.
In December 2008, ASSRA purchased the original American Saddlebred Stud Book from the American Saddlebred Horse Association of Australia (ASHAA). At that time, the two Associations were run side by side.
At the Annual General Meeting of ASHAA in June 2009, a special resolution was held, during which members of ASHAA Inc voted to cancel ASHAA Inc. and at the same time nominated and voted the new ASSRA Inc committee in. ASHAA was incorporated in 1977 and was a legal registered registry until its cancellation.
ASSRA runs as a registry only for both the original American Saddlebred Stud Book and Saddlebred Sporthorses. ASSRA safeguards the members of the association by being an incorporated registry.
ASSRA is administered by a Committee of elected members. The Committee members are nominated and elected by members from subscribers and breeders. The committee members and helpers are all volunteers who donate their time and expertise to run a Registry for all American Saddlebred breeders and owners in Australia and New Zealand.
Please feel free to contact our secretary should you require any help and/or assistance.
With kind regards
Your's truly
