ASSRA Inc. The American Saddlebred & Sporthorse Registry of Australasia

Every so often, ASSRA receives updates of proud American Saddlebred owners telling us how their horses have competed and placed in various disciplines.

It certainly is our pleasure to share these with you.
Please enjoy the trials and tribulations, the highs and the lows, the losses and the winnings with some of our fellow American Saddlebred owners.

Versatility takes on a whole new meaning when you follow the story of "Singsation" a 5 gaited American Saddlebred showring star who turned into a Combined Driving star.  You realize that what is meant by referring to an American Saddlebred as versatile that it's not only the breed that is in general terms versatile but each individual within that breed.

Here is Singsation's aka Clint's story

Hi Saddlebred fans,

My wife, Janeene, just posted the Cones and Marathon Hazards video I took at the Indiana CDE. Clint had the fastest time in Cones but knocked one ball down. It was questionable whether he actually knocked it down or if the wind helped unseat the ball. The judges concluded it was a penalty knock down. However Clint still won Cones in his division!

I was able to video 6 of 7 marathon hazards. The fifth hazard was too far into the woods so I couldn't risk trying. Again Clint was the fastest horse through the hazards. Each hazard has five gates to travel through in the proper order, A - E. Notice there is hardly ever any hesitation by Clint which means the driver, Sterling Graburn, has mapped out the proper path for accuracy at the speed Clint can move!

The Indiana CDE show management combined all of the level/divisions for another set of awards at the end of the event. Only one pony beat Clint in cones. This pony was a bit slower but had no knock downs. In marathon hazards an Advanced pony beat Clint on time. That pony is actually rated in the Advanced level/division, a level above Clint's Intermediate div.. Therefore the pony has had years more experience. Many times ponies can take shorter routes through individual hazards than a horse can.

We'll be posting Clint's driven dressage test next week.

Enjoy!

Clint's motto is the Saddlebred mantra, "I'LL TAKE YOU THERE!"!
